Snoods are an important part of longline fishing, consisting of short lines attached to the main long line, which are then connected to the hooks. Snoods are often made of monofilament or braided line, and their length and spacing can be adjusted to suit different fishing conditions and target species.

We pay close attention to critical dimensions to ensure reliability. After all, what does having a strong motor mean if the sheaves can't grab on to the line strong enough?

Material also plays a big role in it, so we have chose cast iron that helps with pulling, no matter the load.
It is also the optimal material for freezing cold temperatures, because water doesn't freeze and create ice on the surface. However, on lighter machines we offer both cast iron as well as stainless steel sheaves, so any fisherman can use their own preferred tool, to get the most out of the machine.

Sandeel fishing in UK waters could be banned next year under “gamechanging” government plans to protect puffin and kittiwake numbers, the Guardian can reveal. The sandeel is a small fish that is critical to marine food webs in the UK, and is an important part of many seabird diets. For example, the kittiwake – which is particularly sandeel-dependent – has seen its UK numbers fall by half since the 1960s, with diminishing availability of prey during the breeding season thought to be mainly responsible. Now, sources at the department have confirmed that a ban on the practice will be put in motion early next year, starting with a consultation of stakeholders in January.
While the move is likely to dismay some in the fishing industry, wildlife campaigners have welcomed a potential ban.
